Road Trip Wednesday: Where do you buy your books?

Road Trip Wednesday is a ‘Blog Carnival,’ where YA Highway's contributors post a weekly writing- or reading-related question that begs to be answered. In the comments on YA Highway, you can hop from destination to destination and get everybody's unique take on the topic.

You can participate! Just answer the prompt on your own blog and leave a link - or, if you prefer, you can include your answer in the comments.

This Week's Topic:
Where do you buy most of your books? No one is judging!

I buy my books pretty much anywhere. I'd say the majority of my books are purchased from Barnes & Noble and Amazon, but if I'm in a grocery store (it happens to me more often than you'd think!) and they have a book that catches my eye, I'll buy it there. I'm one of those people who buys books on a whim, so if it looks good and it's right in front of me, I'll usually buy it right then. I'm not exactly known for my patience when it comes to books I want to read.

So what about you? Where do you buy your books?

  1. I´m also not patient at all when it comes to books and am quite an impulsive buyer as well :-)...The hubby is trying to limit the amount of books I buy a month. I see his point but it´s quite difficult :-)

  2. "I'm one of those people who buys books on a whim" That's me hehe
I, for one, hide all the books I buy from my hubby lol

  3. Like you I buy books on a whim. If there is a book in a store I will find it and most likely buy it.

    I answered the question here:

  4. I bought and read Twilight on a whim, from a grocery store ;) I actually buy most of my books from B&N now because of the nook, which actually makes my whim even more unpredictable. If I see a book I like I pull out my nook and usually find I can purchase it for a fraction of the cost. Score!

  5. I would love to be more impulsive with my purchases, but the budget won't permit, sadly. That does come in handy this time of year, though, since it means others can make impulsive purchases on my behalf and give them as gifts. :)

  6. I have zero self-control. If there's a book coming out and I want it, I'll have it on its day of release ^^; I should probably develop some patience :P

  7. I'm kind of like you on this. I tend to put convenience and price above all else when it comes to books. I also am a confirmed compulsive book buyer.

  8. I wish I could be so impulsive! Lucky you! I rack myself with guilt for spending money on things, even when we have enough money to spare. Even when I get a gift card for a birthday or Christmas. My frugal parents ruined me for impulse shopping, lol.

  9. Buying books at the grocery store. That is one thing I've not done...yet. I'm sure I'll break down though - especially if it's one I'm dying to have!

  10. These are my thoughts, pretty much word for word. If I see a book that intrigues me, I have to have it NOW. Great post, Cindy!

  11. I often buy books on a whim just about anywhere (including grocery stores, on multiple occasions!), but sometimes it's fun to just go into a used bookstore and browse, too! Basically, I don't care where my books come from =)
